祭拜祖先是民族性传统美德，表征有慎终追远，对历代宗亲的孝思与缅怀，代代相传，子孙绵延，蓬勃朝气，香烟鼎盛，人间自谓福址也！

我们佛教徒，在父母及祖上往生后，我们应该代他们供僧及布施，也可以代他们供佛及延请僧人诵经，这样做可以为他们带来利益，令他们得生于善道之中。
此外，最直接及有效之利益祖上的方法是善用自己的身体。我们的肉身是由父母的身体而来的，他们的身体又源自我们之祖辈，所以我们与祖上历代的血脉有着直接的关连。如果我们能利用自己的身体行善的话，因着以上所述的关系，对血缘祖上的利益远比其他善行为大。 打开/如何
