Over $4 million stolen from Terra users in a fishing attack

The criminals used Google's advertising tools and launched fake campaigns to steal the digital assets of their users.

The malicious ads appeared in the first place for the search query "Terra" on Google. These links redirected users to a fake domain that offered to connect their Terra wallets.

Trusting customers entered a passphrase to access the vault, after which they were deprived of all their cryptocurrency assets.

As a result, the hackers managed to steal about $4.31 million in cryptocurrency. All the funds were stolen between April 12 and April 21, 2022, and were transferred to a single wallet from 52 different sources.
