“……used his University email account to communicate with that subordinate in a manner inconsistent with the dignity and reputation of the University.”
当然这不是什么大事,但我们学校nb就nb在,邮件里附了个链接,里面有个118页的pdf,包含了所有前校长跟那个下属的“in a manner inconsistent with the dignity and reputation of the University”的聊天记录。
1.go rougue
2. Oh yes
然后校长回复:“Love it when you say that.”
118页pdf里面有大几十页的订单记录,包括pizza印度餐馆以及 XX(我们学校所在州名)Face Mask(哦所有的order都是pick up,很注重防疫了可以说)。
3. TOY
TOY=thinking of you
4. classy
5.subordinate
6. President
President.
Mark Schlissel sits on his bed in the President’s Suite. It had begun to seem too large for him as of late (as of late = recently). At one point he had thought that it might be too small to fit someone as tall as him. At his large stature (stature, n. 名声,声望,身高), it had been expected that he would find the bed to be so big, but now? It seemed like something was missing.
Two knocks sounded from the door. The resounding taps echoed through the room and back to him, as he thought about who could possibly be outside of his room. Mark knew he should’ve had no visitors God 我真讨厌英语的多重否定)at this hour of the night. He had just attended the Big Ten Final Championship in Indianapolis at the Lucas Oil Stadium and although the rush of victory ran through his veins(好句欣赏:胜利冲过他全身的血脉)he was feeling lonely tonight. Everyone had thought he had gone back to the University immediately following the game, but he knew if only it were that easy, he wouldn’t be feeling like this.
Nothing would quite give him the feeling he had all throughout his trip to Paris and India. It was just something about the view that always got him. Basking (bask v. 晒太阳,取暖)in the Parisian air, he knew he would never forget the wafting (waft v. 飘荡;飘过)smell of cigarettes, lavender perfume, and that one last aroma (aroma n. 芳香,浓香)he could never truly place no matter how hard he truly tried. The one thing that had meant so much, however, had been the body by his side on his trips that had prevented him from thinking about his loneliness. The ever present feeling of void (void n. 空间,空白)that he had felt beside him for so long.
He might have had a Bachelors from Princeton and a Medical degree from Johns Hopkins, but god, the only thing he felt like he truly understood nowadays was the pitch cold quiet he felt reverberate(reverberate v. 回响;反射;弹回)through his body.
Mark was aware that nearly 30% of the U.S population was alone. He knew he wasn’t special. What made him believe this feeling was unlike any other was the way it made his heart beat so rapidly. Accelerating with every inhale when he felt no one by his side. The first time his heart beat like this he thought he was dying. He had a Medical degree and yet this was like nothing he had ever studied - what was the point of those eight years of work if he couldn’t even fix himself?
Maybe he would always feel this way.
source
