America divided on abortion rights

最近在美國鬧得沸沸揚揚，當然這也是全球議題，關於墮胎大致有兩派，一個是pro-life(反墮胎，支持生命權) 一個是pro-choice(支持墮胎，支持選擇權)，反墮胎認為胚胎成形就是一個生命不能隨意剝奪其生命權，支持墮胎者則認為會進行墮胎的有些也是基於個人的理由因素不得不把其拿掉，關於這議題現在美國真的是mess-up，我覺得越來越像哲學問題，一個沒有答案的議題，這裡就不評論還是來看看報導吧

Preventing women and girls from accessing an abortion does not mean they stop needing one. That’s why attempts to ban or restrict abortions do nothing to reduce the number of abortions, it only forces people to seek out unsafe abortions.
阻止婦女和女孩擁有墮胎的許可並不代表他們沒有墮胎的需求了，那就是為甚麼去禁止限制墮胎並沒有減少墮胎的數量，這只會迫使人們去尋找不安全的墮胎管道

Criminalisation and restrictive laws on abortion prevent health-care providers from doing their job properly and from providing the best care options for their patients, in line with good medical practice and their professional ethical responsibilities.
墮胎的定罪或是限制性的法律使健康醫療照護提供者無法正常正的工作，無法提供最好的醫療選項與好的醫療實踐和專業倫理道德給予患者

Claire Malone, a young woman from Ireland,has a number of complex and life-threatening health conditions, including pulmonary atresia and pulmonary hypertension and had her lung removed in 2014. If women with pulmonary hypertension become pregnant, they are at high risk of becoming even more gravely ill or dying in pregnancy. Claire knows this, which is what led her to seek a termination, a request that was denied by her doctors because the law prevented them from doing so.

先談談今天的標題 America divided on abortion rights
其實這是新聞標題，有經過簡化，原來是這樣的 America is divided on/over abortion rights
通常新聞標題為了快速傳達訊息將訊息簡化才能易於表達，於是把不影響語意的字詞都刪掉 像是省略助動詞(have, has, had, am, is, are, were, was, been, be等等)
這裡有個實用的用法:
be divided on/over something(使意見相左 意見不一致)

該黨在死刑問題上意見不統一。
<>The party is deeply divided on this question.
在這個問題上黨內出現嚴重的分歧
<>Both man are totally divided over the issue of who can hang out with piggyma.
在誰可以約piggyma出去的問題上 這兩個男的完全意見分歧

in line with 與..一致
<>The results it says are in line with my estimates.
結果就像我所預測的一樣

結果就跟預期的一樣

每年的體重增量與年齡一致地增長

at risk .... 在....危險之中

at your own risk 後果自負 自行承擔(通常是被告知危險的情況下)

法律用語 overturn 推翻 (原意為打翻、弄翻之意)

看到了這個議題後剛好想到我在Netflix上看的《性愛自修室》，有 一集就有提到墮胎，反對者跟支持者雙方真的是不會給好臉色看ㄟ(未成年請勿觀看 許多性愛畫面齁齁齁，否則你的腦海會一直浮現vagina )
