We started delivering blood thinners to a patient. As many parts of the city were destroyed by bombardment, pharmacies were closed, and chronic patients were receiving little or no support. A Georgian lady sought help, as the war had seriously affected her livelihood, and medicines were expensive. Seeing the deteriorating condition of her son, she was very worried. Thanks be to God that we found and were able to hand-deliver the medicine swiftly! The lady told us how important the medicine was in this time. Thus medicines became the main supplies we tried to deliver. We may not have the gift of healing like Jesus, but we still want to bring the hope of healing to those in need.
With the sound of shelling and explosions constantly drumming in the distance, inexperienced in war, we felt rather worried; but people of Kharkiv still looking rather chilled – I became very curious. A young lady shrugged her shoulders and said, “I don't know what will happen either, but everything is in the hands of God.” She has crude faith, but she reminded me what faith is. T took us to a nearby area that suffered heavy bombardments, “We Kharkiv people just want to live a normal life, continue to shop for grocery, fish, and live. This is our response to the ‘fear’ of Russia bombing our city every day. Live a normal life, live with dignity and have the freedom from fear.”
“Why are you here? How’s Hong Kong now?” T’s question is a small reminder of why we started the “Save Ukraine” ministry. ‘As Hongkongers being oppressed by the Chinese Communist Party, fighting together with the Ukrainians is a battle against authoritarian regimes. We want to be a church that talks less and walks more. Only by self-sacrificing like Jesus, love might reach out to people in despair.
“You are crazy, I am proud of driving for you two.” T said with tears welled up in his eyes. Honestly, we are also proud to be part of them.
“You are doing what pleases the kingdom of God, helping the Ukrainians. May the Lord bless you.” Hugged and wept with many elders, and support from afar speaks louder than any words. May this little support be hope among the desperate.
The war is still going on, Mariupol is still besieged, whilst countries are still holding back, fear of offending Russia. Will you still remember those living in terror, in prison, in abuse, in pain, in death?

P.S. “Please share the real situation” – T asked repeatedly. Please share.
P.P.S. There is a cancer patient in Kharkiv in need of medication to survive. Due to cost, we are also looking for more resources to help. Please pm if interested for more information.
