Beijing will offer subsidies to consumers who buy new energy vehicles to replace older cars as the city seeks to stabilize and economy hit by Covid outbreaks and control measures.

Those who retire a car registered in the city more than 1 year ago and purchase a new energy vehicle by the end of 2022 will receive a subsidy of as much as 10,000 yuan ($1,499), according to a plan by the municipal government Thursday.

However, the insurance premiums for electric cars can go up to S$5,000 a year. It was more expensive than McLaren and Ferrari.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob mentioned that government is keen on reintroducing Good and Service Tax (GST). GST was once introduced in 2015 but it had been abolished since the people complained about the rising cost due to consumption tax.

The government would like to reintroduce GST with the purpose of increasing the revenue. The government will set the rate that would not burden the people and also make sure GST could increase the tax revenue in Malaysia.

云顶（Genting Bhd）持股20.3%的TauRx Pharmaceuticals Ltd完成阿尔茨海默氏症药物的临床试验后，刺激股价上涨。

今早甫开市，该股大涨55仙或11.58%，报5.30令吉。

摩根大通在一份研究报告中强调了TauRx在LUCIDITY 3期临床试验中获得的初步数据，认为这些数据倾向于积极的一面。

“TauRx的主要研究口服药物HMTM已经在598名老年痴呆症患者身上进行了测试。在一项为期12个月的盲法研究之后，参与者进入了额外的一年开放标签阶段。”

券商说：“研究结果表明，从轻度认知障碍到中度阿尔茨海默病的严重程度，接受HMTM治疗的参与者在认知和功能终点的下降速度，大大低于典型的阿尔茨海默病。”
