當初孟晚舟被捕後，中共就拘捕兩名加拿大人，係報復性回應行動（retaliatory response）。亦可以話tit-for-tat move（以牙還牙舉動）。路透社6月11日報導標題An eye for an eye? Although China is a one-party system with seemingly unchecked powers for the government and the communist party (CPC/CCP), the authorities are very sensitive to public opinions. And things haven’t been going very well in China. For a supposedly communist/socialist country, there is tremendous inequality in China: The top 1% own 31% of the wealth — same as the USA.

Housing prices are insanely high — 45 times as large as the average annual household income in cities like Beijing and Shenzhen.
